Its yellow flesh is sweet and richly flavoured. Partially self fertile. Not often cultivated in the UK, flowering early it benefits from shelter and a warm spring.

Mirabelle Golden Sphere

Good as a dessert fruit it can also be cooked. Though hardy like other Mirabelles it flowers early so benefits from a sheltered situation.

Introduced in 1995 it produces larger round bright red fruits with sweet orange flesh. Ripens late August and considered partially self fertile.
