To ensure you receive your trees in the best condition for a successful start we:
- Aim to minimise the time between lifting and you receiving the plants.
- Pack your trees thoroughly with protective packaging with the roots kept moist.
- Include with your delivery a leaflet providing planting and cultural advice.
- Collection is welcome by arrangement (this avoids paying delivery costs).
Once arranged all deliveries are made by a nationwide carrier. Usually the delivery will arrive the day after we send it from our end. We always try to contact you in advance to arrange a convenient date. You do not have to be in if you have a safe place to leave the carton.
Delivery Costs
Fruit trees are lengthy items so more expensive to deliver than smaller items. They are packed and delivered in 1.8m or 1.4m long cartons.
1.8m Regular Cartons:
Carriage – £22.50
5+ trees – £25.00
10+ trees – £30.00
Carriage costs apply to England & Wales.
There is a supplement of £2.50 for deliveries to the London postal district – postcodes E, EC, N, NW, SE, SW, W and WC.
There is a supplement of £4.00 for deliveries to certain areas of Wales – Powys & Dyfed – postcodes HR3&5, LD, SY10, SY15-25 and SA14-73.
There is a supplement of £6.00 for deliveries to Scotland south of a line from Glasgow across to Perth & Dundee
There is a £30.00 supplement for deliveries to mainland North Scotland & Highlands – postcodes AB, IV1-39, KW1-14, PA21-40, PH19-41 & 49 and the Isle of Wight. Deliveries destined for the Isles of Scilly will be delivered to Penzance harbourside.
For deliveries to Scottish islands and the Isle of Man, please contact us directly. We use a next day carrier service (north Scotland 2/3 days). The carrier service is excellent but we are not responsible for any delays caused by them.
We do not make money on deliveries. They are sent at cost. The bulk of the price is the carrier cost, the remainder on packaging which is recyclable as much as possible. The further they have to take the delivery the more they charge hence unfortunately having to apply supplements.
1.4m Smaller Cartons
If your order is just for fruit bushes, raspberry canes, rootstocks and smaller trees, your order may be able to fit into a smaller 1.4m carton. The carriage cost will be reduced in the checkout process to £15. This can send anywhere in Great Britain (no supplements).
Limits on deliveries
We will not deliver to Northern Ireland currently due to plant passport issues.
We do not deliver to the Channel Isles or the EU because of all the layers of bureaucracy and expense involved.
Packaging materials
The packaging we use to send the trees & bushes in is recyclable or reusable.
- the carton & corrugated paper can go in your recycling bin including the paper parcel tape. Just cut into some smaller pieces.
- the cane & polythene bag around the roots can be reused. Remove the bag around the roots carefully to avoid holing it.
- the straw can be composted.
