Plums
An expanding selection of Plum trees are offered for sale from dessert to culinary varieties. Plums ripen from July until September with most varieties ripening during August. There are Plum trees to buy to suit everyone. Choose from well known varieties such as Victoria to the less well known but just as desirable varieties. The different trees for sale are detailed below.
All Plums are available as bare root ‘maidens’ on moderate vigour St Julien A rootstock which will make a tree, where the fruit is pickable from ground level, and some Gloucestershire plums on vigorous Brompton rootstock.
Plums ripen from mid July into September. You may wish to choose a selection of trees and spread the picking time. These details are provided for each variety. You can see a summary on the ‘Picking & Storage’ advice page.
Discount information: 5% on 5+ trees, 10% on 10+ trees. Delivery cost: based on quantity ordered. See the How to Order page for more details.
Plum trees are dispatched between early December and late March when dormant.
You are welcome to advance order trees now (fruit bushes can be ordered from August). Payment will be taken when you place your order. We will then be in contact from early December to arrange delivery or collection.

Denbigh
St Julien A maiden (moderate): In stock £26.00A dual purpose plum. Ripe by late August the plum is dark red with many small yellow dots and a blueish bloom. The golden yellow flesh is sweet & juicy.

Early Prolific
St Julien A maiden (moderate): In stock £26.00One of the earliest plums. Very good as a dessert plum when ripe. Otherwise a good plum for cooking and making jam. .

Evesham Wonder
St Julien A maiden (moderate): In stock £26.00Arose when different coloured fruit was found on a Yellow Egg tree. The medium sized oval fruits are bright glossy red. A culinary plum.

Grove’s Late Victoria
St Julien A maiden (moderate): In stock £26.00A sport of Victoria that ripens later. It has the same qualities as Victoria – an excellent dual purpose variety, large plums good to eat fresh or cook.

St Julien A maiden (moderate): In stock £26.00A very early reliable dual purpose plum that can ripen from early July. The roundish plums ripen to a blue/black colour with thick blue bloom.

Kirke’s Blue
St Julien A maiden (moderate): In stock £26.00A very enjoyable late dessert plum. Medium sized plums dark purple when ripe. The greenish yellow flesh is juicy and is of excellent flavour.

Victoria

Yellow Egg
St Julien A maiden (moderate): In stock £26.00The original Pershore plum! For culinary use. Was grown much in the Vale of Evesham. Large yellow fruits. Self-fertile. Hardy, reliable, heavy cropping.
