Mirabelle de Nancy
Related to the Damson, arising in the middle east arriving in France in the middle ages. Small round yellow fruits up to 3cm diameter ripen early August. Its yellow flesh is sweet and richly flavoured. Partially self fertile. Not often cultivated in the UK, flowering early it benefits from shelter and a warm spring.
