Black Oliver
A long established dessert cherry that arose in the West Midlands, areas of which became well known for their cherry growing. Produces medium sized cherries that ripen up to become black by early August. Dark red flesh sweet and juicy. Not self-fertile, pollinated by Stella and Sunburst.

Colney cherry produces large, dark sweet & juicy red cherries that do become almost black as they ripen from late July. A UK bred variety.

Kordia
A high yielding sweet cherry that ripens to dark red with red flesh by late July. Heart shaped fruits of excellent flavour. Introduced from the Czech Republic. It is self-incompatible but can be pollinated by self-fertile varieties & Regina.

Lapins is a modern self fertile dessert cherry that was initially raised in Canada. The large cherries ripen to dark red or even verging on black by mid July. Red sweet juicy flesh.

An earlier ripening dessert cherry. White blossom. Heavy cropping. Fruits are large, becoming red, black and of very good flavour. Pollinated by Stella, Lapins, Sunburst & Merton Glory.

Merton Glory
A large sweet heart shaped white cherry with a red flush. Ripens early July. Not self fertile but can be pollinated by self fertile varieties Stella & Sunburst. A universal pollinator so will pollinate other cherries flowering at the same time. A British bred variety being introduced in 1931. The Photo was taken late June.

Penny
Penny Cherry is an excellent quality dessert cherry that is heavy cropping with large dark red fruits that become black. Sweet with juicy flesh. It is a late ripening variety which commercially has benefits.

Stella
A well known dessert variety producing large dark red sweet juicy cherries in mid July. Very productive variety and reliable. Has the advantage of being self fertile and also a good pollinator of other cherries. This photo was taken late June. By July the fruits will have become darker red.
