An early bittersharp variety and most likely to be a ‘sport’ of Foxwhelp, a very old Herefordshire cider variety. Small to medium sized roundish apples that are heavily striped bright red or even crimson on the sun exposed side.Broxwood Foxwhelp flesh is mildly bittersharp with some astringency and produces a dry sharp cider that is useful for blending.
