It is intriguing how some varieties arise. This apples name explains some of its story. The pips of an eaten apple from Holland were planted at Wyken near Coventry in early 1700s. Flat round apples with smooth green skin with fine russet dots. Sometimes with some red flush. Juicy sweet and richly flavoured – a very nice apple.
