A very old variety maybe even dating back to the Romans! Produces medium sized flattish apples with green yellow skin flushed orange red that will keep into the New Year. Apples have a rich pineapple-like acidity.
A slower growing variety. Late flowering and late to come into growth. The latter attribute can cause some to think a newly planted tree is not going to start to grow!

This is an excellent small dessert apple. Conical in shape the apple has bright yellow skin that is largely covered with a brownish russet with a small area of red flush on its sunny side. Of excellent flavour – sweetness with contrasting acidity.
