Bloody Ploughman

Produces conical apples with distinct ribbing. It’s blood red skin is a little tough, beneath the sweet tasting flesh is heavily pink tinged.

What an evocative name! In profile on its side the shape lives up to its name. Large apples that are distinctly ribbed, often squareish.

Hunt’s Duke of Gloucester

This is an excellent small dessert apple. Conical in shape the apple has bright yellow skin that is largely covered with a brownish russet with a small area of red flush on its sunny side. Of excellent flavour – sweetness with contrasting acidity.
