Fruit trees & bushes are dispatched when dormant from late November to late March. We will make the products available again during July when we are certain of their growth well in advance of availability.

A dessert pear that arose in Belguim around 1759 but grown in the UK particularly in Victorian times. Its name means ‘delicious morsel’. The variety has spread throughout the world including the southern hemisphere being valued for its quality and long ripening period into the following year. It is a very good garden pear that requires a sheltered situation particularly if grown away from southern England.

The most well known pear. Reliable and heavy cropping. Medium sized pears with pale yellow flesh, melting, juicy, sweet and of good flavour. Normal pear shape – Pyriform, but can often be long and narrow with a bulbous base, known as callabasse. Now sold out.

Produces large long conical pears with yellowish white flesh which is melting, juicy and of nice rich flavour. When ripe the yellowish skin is largely covered with a fine cinnamon coloured russet. The tree is a strong grower, being triploid, ideally grown as a bush tree.
