Waterloo Cherry is an old cherry variety that was raised in 1815 and consequently named Waterloo after fruiting shortly after the famous battle. Smaller cherries than varieties bred recently but juicy and flavoursome.

Waterloo ripens late June to early July. Its fruits become deep red almost black if allowed to ripen fully. Flattened at the stalk so having a somewhat heart shape. Red flesh that is jiucy and of good flavour.
Raised by Thomas Knight from a cross between Bigarreau & May Duke. He also bred another Cherry – Knight’s Early Black from similar varieties.
We are growing a couple more older cherry varieties on a vigorous rootstock – Black Oliver & Amber Heart
