Golden Transparent is a late ripening gage the becomes golden yellow with a light bloom and red dots. Golden transparent flesh that is juicy and at its best of excellent flavour and the plump stone becomes almost free when ripe. Flat round fruits are large for a Gage with a deep suture (groove running from the stalk to the base).
Raised by Thomas Rivers of the River’s Nursery, Hertfordshire from Transparent Gage in 1890. We are growing another Gage raised from Transparent – Early Transparent Gage. The picture is of a Gage but not Golden Transparent. We will endeavour to obtain photos.
