Of all the apples we grow Howgate Wonder can produce the largest. Apples round conical in shape striped orange red. Sub acid in flavour, easily cooking to a fluff. Can be eaten as a dessert apple but probably best sliced first because of its size! Grows well in all parts of the UK. Rootstock: MM106, M26.

Bountiful

A good alternative to Bramley. The tree is diploid so is a pollinator of other apples, Bramley is triploid so does not pollinate other apples. Another advantage it has over Bramley is that it is not so vigorous, being a compact grower suitable for smaller gardens and responds well to being grown in restricted forms.

Scotch Bridget
£17.50Availability: In stockOut of stock
A very useful dual purpose apple that often thrives in less than ideal conditions. Quite large round conical red flushed apples that are often lop sided with obvious unequal ribbing which can make for odd shaped fruit. Do not let this put you off because early on when sharp the apples can be cooked, later on becoming sweeter and enjoyable as a dessert. (1851, Scotland)
