Autumn Bliss is the most well known autumn fruiting raspberry and produces its bright medium sized red berries on the tips of the current seasons canes. Fruiting starts from August providing a steady crop of berries into the autumn and the first frosts.
Plant 45cm apart. The canes of Autumn Bliss, which can reach 1.5-1.8m tall, are reduced to soil level over the winter months after cropping. Even earlier cropping of the canes can be achieved by leaving some canes tall, reducing to just below where fruit was produced previously.
Though Autumn Bliss is deservedly the most usual autumn Raspberry grown we are offering a couple of other late fruiting varieties – Heritage and Skye.
For autumn fruiting raspberries a supporting framework of post & wire does not necessarily have to be erected. The annual growth can be self supporting on reasonably sheltered sites. If a tidier appearance wished for introduce post and wire support because it they grow well canes will tend to topple over somewhat under the weight of the fruit and height of canes espiecially if the site catches any wind.
Supplied in bundles of 5 canes. Non-organic plants.
