Yellow Ingestrie

Produces decorative smooth skinned yellow apples of oblong shape. Arose in the West Midlands and named after Ingestrie Hall. Well flavoured juicy crisp yellow apple. Tree develops a distinctive drooping habit.

Lord Lambourne

A regular heavy cropping apple. At its best late September, early October – of excellent refreshing taste, sweet & juicy. Flushed and striped red over green yellow base. Apples round, slightly conical and smooth skinned. Compact grower, good for small gardens. Lord Lambourne fruits partially tip-bearing, but grows well as an espalier.

Laxton’s Superb

Another variety with Cox parentage being raised at Laxton’s Nursery, Bedford. Largely purple red skin over greenish-yellow base with some redder stripes. Often has a Cox like flavour – crisp, juicy & refreshing. Apples round conical in shape. Hardy and suitable for most areas.

Ellison’s Orange

An early dessert flushed brownish red with stripes of brighter red mixed in. Slightly conical in shape. Creamy white flesh has a rich flavour with a somewhat aniseed flavour. A hardy variety suitable for growing in the north and east. Rootstock: MM106

Fiesta

Also known as ‘Red Pippin’, skin much flushed bright red. Good cropping. Fruit sweet and juicy with balancing acidity similar to Cox which is one of its parents. Always enjoyed at our Apple day events during October. Suitable for growing in most parts of the UK. This variety has some self fertility which is very uncommon in apples, but will always do better with other varieties around.
