An attractive less well known late dessert apple, Puckrupp Pippin develops a cinnamon brown russet over a yellow base. The medium sized round conical apples have a cream, firm and juicy flesh. Broad ribbing may reduce the round appearance of the apple.
Puckrupp Pippin was first described in 1873 arising in the small village of Puckrupp just north of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire just off the A38 between Tewkesbury and Worcester.
It can be confused with Hunt’s Duke of Gloucester appearing very similar but there are small differences.
