CompareOnward is an excellent quality pear – creamy white flesh, melting, juicy, with a rich sweet flavour and balancing acidity. Medium sized fruit ripening to yellow green with pink red flush. A reliable cropper. Introduced in 1947 from Wisley, Surrey.
Onward will not pollinate Doyenne du Comice and vice versa. It was raised as a result of a cross with Comice being one of the parents hence the incompatability.
