Lapins seems to have some resistance to splitting which can be a common experience if grown in the open without any protection.
Introduced from Canada in 1984 from a breeding programme where a number of cherry varieties have arisen and found their way into the UK. Other self fertile cheries that we grow include Stella, Sunburst & Summersun is partially self fertile.
