Winterbourne Magnum

A dual purpose variety. Medium sized plums, oval in shape, with purple to dark red skin with a light bloom and sweet yellow flesh.

Yellow Egg

The original Pershore plum! For culinary use. Was grown much in the Vale of Evesham. Large yellow fruits. Self-fertile. Hardy, reliable, heavy cropping.

Mirabelle de Nancy

Related to the Damson, arising in the middle east arriving in France in the middle ages. Small round yellow fruits up to 3cm diameter ripen early August. Its yellow flesh is sweet and richly flavoured. Partially self fertile. Not often cultivated in the UK, flowering early it benefits from shelter and a warm spring.

Mirabelle Golden Sphere

A relatively new variety bred producing good sized yellow spherical fruits with golden flesh that is sweet with a plum like flavour. Good as a dessert fruit it can also be cooked. Though hardy like other Mirabelles it flowers early so benefits from a sheltered situation.

Mirabelle Gypsy

Gypsy is a result of a breeding programme in Ukraine to create improved varieties from naturalized Cherry Plum with its small fruits. Introduced in 1995 it produces larger round bright red fruits with sweet orange flesh. Ripens late August and considered partially self fertile.

RootstocksWe can offer apple, pear and plum rootstocks for sale for grafting in February & March or for planting out before grafting at a later stage. Some of the apple rootstocks will have been grown on the nursery and will be harvested in January. Others will be bought in, most of it organic. For grafting the stems will be stout in the region of 8-11mm collar diameter. Available from early February for delivery or collection. If delivery required carriage will be calculated based on ‘complete’ trees. With rootstocks being smaller we will deliver most orders for £15. We will adjust before payment is taken. They can be ordered along with ‘complete’ trees. Delivery will be made together February onwards unless specified.
We will have a selection of pre-trained containerised espalier fruit trees grown in 12 litre pots. As they are grown in containers, we can supply them from August onwards. Espaliers are a tree form good for training against walls or fences. They have a single vertical stem with branches coming out in horizontal tiers. This takes up a lot less space than a round bush tree. There is a small range of apple and pear varieties, available as single tier trees with the first tier established at 12-18” above the compost level. THEY ARE FOR COLLECTION ONLY. THEY ARE TOO BULKY TO BE DELIVERED WITH CANES PROTRUDING. They will fit comfortably in a hatchback vehicle. The trees are grown for the summer in peat free compost with added loam to provide enough nutition through the growing season.
