A ‘Siberian’ type crab apple which makes it one of the latest ripening of all Crab apples. When other Crab apples have fully ripened in October Red Sentinel’s apples are just developing a red flush. It is not until November that the fruits really become bright red and remain on the tree well into January making for a very attractive display that will provide a winter food for birds. The clusters of medium sized round apples bring the branches down giving it a weeping appearance and restricting its size. Introduced 1959.
