CompareA heavy cropping early culinary apple Keswick Codlin originated as a seedling in north Lancashire and will grow happily in most parts of the UK. Pale green skin that becomes pale yellow has a greasy feel.
The large round conical apples are distinctly ribbed which makes the apples look and feel flat sided. The ribs terminate at the base in distinct crowns. Prominent lenticels – grey dots with pinkish outside.Apples can appear lop sided.
Softish yellowish white flesh cooks to a froth. Though considered a cooking apple it makes a tangy dessert around late August.
