A later summer fruiting Raspberry ripening during late July and into early August. Octavia produces large uniform fruit and of very good flavour with disease resistance. Canes are moderately vigorous and very winter hardy.
After planting in the spring basal shoots will arise from beneath the soil level. Allow these to grow, they will provide fruit the following summer.
In the second year after planting basal shoots will again arise from the base. Allow these to grow, they will fruit the following summer, the third summer after planting. The basal shoots that grew in the first summer will fruit in the second summer.
After fruiting cut out the old canes to ground level and thin out the one year basal shoots leaving strong shoots 8-10cm apart.
Supplied in bundles of 5 canes from December to late March when dormant. Non-organic plants.
