An expanding selection of Plum trees are offered for sale from dessert to culinary varieties. Plums ripen from July until September with most varieties ripening during August. There are Plum trees to buy to suit everyone. Choose from well known varieties such as Victoria to the less well known but just as desirable varieties. The different Plum trees for sale are detailed below and there is more information on plum trees and growing them at the bottom of this page.
All Plums are available as bare root ‘maidens’ on moderate vigour St Julien A rootstock with a few available on more vigorous Brompton.
Plums ripen from mid July into September. You may wish to choose a selection of trees and spread the picking time. These details are provided for each variety. You can see a summary on the ‘Picking & Storage’ advice page.
Discount information – the following discounts apply on total order value, excluding carriage – 5% on 5+ trees, 10% on 10+ trees. Carriage based on quantity – see the Delivery page for more details.
Plum trees are dispatched between late November and late March when dormant.
We will acknowledge then be in touch with an ‘Order Confirmation’ when taking payment. With already accumulated orders we will be in contact in March to arrange delivery or collection.
Blue Tit

Produces round medium sized blue plums with a light blue bloom. Yellow flesh, quite juicy of good flavour. A cross between a Gage and a plum hence its quality of flavour. Reliable cropper and self fertile. A good garden variety. An English variety Introduced 1938. Rootstock availability: St Julien A.

Excalibur

A relatively new dessert plum being introduced in 1989. Produces large roundish plums that are a little longer than wide. Skin colour becomes red orange when ripe with a light pale blue bloom. The pale yellow flesh is sweet & juicy of good flavour. It is not self fertile.

Marjories Seedling

One of the latest cropping plums with large deep purple fruits with a blue bloom. Oval in shape. A dual purpose plum with greenish yellow flesh that is quite sweet. Regular and heavy cropping. A late flowering plum and is self fertile. Originated in Berkshire in 1912. Now sold out on St Julien A
