We have a selection of Perry Pear trees for sale. Perry Pears are traditionally grown in the three counties of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire & Herefordshire. They make large long lived trees and the fruit is used to make Perry.
Trees are available as ‘maidens’ and grown on wild pear rootstock (Pyrus communis)

Perry Pear trees are dispatched between late November and late March when dormant.
You are welcome to order now. We will acknowledge your order and email you an Order Confirmation in October when we take payment, before being in contact to arrange delivery or collection from late November.
Blakeney Red

Pears pyriform or turbinate in shape and quite large for a Perry pear. Yellow skin flushed red. Makes a good quality perry. One of the more well known Perry Pears having been widely planted. Grows into a large tree, even very large in favorable conditions.

Widely planted in the past this variety makes a large tree of spreading, even drooping habit. The pears are usually turbinate in shape with green or yellowish skin. One of the later picked varieties in early November. Produces a good quality fruity perry.

Moorcroft

A deservedly widely grown Perry pear because of the high quality of its perry. Yellow or yellow green pears with russet at either ends or just around the eye. Turbinate or sometimes pyriform in shape. Produces a medium acid, medium tannin perry of high quality.

A small tree in maturity with an upright habit. Crops well, producing pyriform shaped pears of a good size with a yellow skin rarely orange flushed. A variety that used to be planted for dessert or culinary pears, but now considered too astringent. However it produces a very good quality perry.

Thurston’s Red

First recorded in the 1880s arising near Dymock close to the Gloucestershire and Herefordshire border. Hence also known as Dymock Red. The pears are pyriform or turbinate in shape becoming yellowish skinned with a red flush.
