A culinary apple with a smooth red flushed skin. Cooks to a rich puree. First exhibited in 1902 by William Crump the head gardener at Madresfield Court near Malvern. William Crump was clearly quite a plant breeder, responsible for other apples - Madresfield Court and William Crump itself.
