Newland Sack

  • Price: £16.00

A very good culinary apple that keeps well into the new year. A regular heavy cropper the apples seem to sweeten up enough in time to be eaten as a dessert. Medium large apples round conical in shape with unequal ribbing. Smooth greenish yellow skin flushed up to about a quarter orange / red. The second smaller photo, though taken early, gives a better indication of size and shape and shows ribbing.

Originates from near Malvern arising as a seedling around 1800. Despite it qualities it nearly went out of existence. In 2001 an aged tree was identified at Newland Court, Malvern.
