Martin Nonpareil

  • Price: £16.00

A good dessert apple, medium in size, yellowish green skin is speckled with brown russet spots. Somewhat angular on its sides. Has a rich flavour, juicy and sweet. Martin Nonpareil seems to come into bearing very quickly producing apples in its second year with us.

This variety was rediscovered in 2012 as a result of an article from the Worcestershire County Council Countryside department in the Parish magazine of the village where the variety first arose - Martin Hussingtree, just north of Worcester.

Originally introduced in 1795 by Rev. George Williams. A very good apple to have been found!

This has been the the Worcestershire County Council Countryside department's main success in 2012 to rediscover some of Worcestershire's lost apple varieties of which there are 10+ of.
