A dual purpose plum large and oval in shape. Ripe by late August the plum is dark red with many small yellow dots and a blueish bloom. The golden yellow flesh is sweet juicy of of good flavour and its large plump oval stone semi clings to the flesh. Just a faint suture runs the length of the plum.
Likely to also be Cox's Emperor it apparently arose in Denbigh, North Wales around 1785 and is self fertile.
